LiveProcess platform will be used in exercises and as part of training programs.
VERONA, NJ (January 27, 2010) – LiveProcess, the market leader in web-based emergency preparedness and incident management solutions for healthcare, announced today that the Center for Preparedness Education, a joint endeavor between Creighton University Medical Center and University of Nebraska Medical Center, will use the LiveProcess platform for functional exercise preparations.
The Center was commissioned by Nebraska Health and Human Services in 2002 in response to Federal and State initiatives to establish and improve the public health system's response to biological events. Today, the Center offers affordable training; customized organizational assistance; and resources designed to enhance preparedness skills and knowledge in the areas of medical preparedness, first responder preparedness, public health preparedness, and business/industry preparedness.
Beginning in spring 2010, LiveProcess will be used during functional exercises. The exercise design team at the Center has developed and conducts exercises ranging from tabletops, to workshops, to full-scale endeavors. In functional exercises, participants are grouped in different rooms to simulate the separation they would experience in an actual event. Phone and fax lines are set up to enable communication between participants. LiveProcess web-based communication tools will provide the Center with the flexibility to conduct functional exercises without having to set up separate communication lines.
In addition to comprehensive communication tools, LiveProcess includes a number of other features to help healthcare organizations conduct exercises. These include:
- Ability to automatically add a sequence of events to an exercise at pre-determined times
- Ability to add pertinent documents to each stage of an event
- A pre-loaded library of victims cards and triage tags
