One-Fourth of Texas Hospitals Implement LiveProcess Emergency Preparedness Platform

VERONA, NJ (September 30, 2009) – LiveProcess, the market leader in web-based emergency preparedness and incident management solutions for hospitals and healthcare organizations, announced today that it has successfully added the largest regional trauma system in Texas, including 123 participating hospitals, to its industry-leading platform. The facilities, which are located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and its surrounding 19 counties, are contracted through the North Central Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council (NCTTRAC) and represent one-fourth of all hospitals in the state.

Now, these facilities have access to a comprehensive hospital-oriented emergency management solution that enables them to improve their planning and preparedness, more easily and efficiently acquire and manage critical assets and resources, build and execute exercises to ensure readiness, and easily respond to and manage incidents via a virtual command center.

"This is a significant financial and operational efficiency leap for a regional coordinating body the size of NCTTRAC," said Nathaniel Weiss, LiveProcess CEO and founder. "LiveProcess enables the NCTTRAC hospitals to eliminate most of the existing manual paperwork and efforts, allows for historical analysis and accounting, ensures funds are being used properly, and will soon enable insight into where certain inventory exists if needed in a regional emergency or event. The expansion of our platform into Texas is an important milestone for LiveProcess as we continue expanding throughout the country."

NCTTRAC was formed in 1989 under a plan by the Texas Department of Health Bureau of Emergency Management to implement a statewide emergency medical services (EMS) and trauma care system. The plan was intended as a means to designate trauma facilities, develop a trauma registry to monitor the system and provide statewide cost and epidemiological statistics. NCTTRAC includes hospitals in the counties of Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Fannin, Grayson, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise. A large region with diverse needs, NCTTRAC also is home to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, one of the world's busiest airports.

"One of the strongest attributes of the LiveProcess system is that it will give us a common critical resource management system and a consistent, hospital-focused, preparedness toolbox across the region," said Rick Antonisse, NCTTRAC executive director. "This is critical given the vast scope and diversity of this region. One hospital within the NCTTRAC region, for example, used the platform to coordinate its participation in the rescue efforts when Hurricanes Gustav and Ike hit the Texas coast last fall."

"We also anticipate that LiveProcess will not only streamline much of our day-to-day workflow, particularly in the area of expenditure planning and reimbursements, but also deliver important insight into regional resources and inventories," Antonisse added.
