LiveProcess Ranked Among America's Fastest-Growing Private Companies

New Jersey-based emergency response solutions company posts three-year sales growth of 620 percent

VERONA, NJ (September 9, 2009) – LiveProcess, whose industry-leading web-based emergency preparedness and incident management platform is used by over 400 hospitals nationwide, has been named to Inc. Magazine's list of America's fastest-growing private companies with a three-year growth rate of 620 percent.

This is the first time LiveProcess has been named to the magazines prestigious Inc. 5000, an exclusive ranking that represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America's independent-minded entrepreneurs. The 2009 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2005 through 2008.

LiveProcess was established in the wake of the September 11th attacks and the worldwide SARS outbreak following widespread recognition that healthcare needed a better way to plan for and respond to disasters. The company's secure, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform—the only disaster preparedness solution endorsed by the American Hospital Association for disaster readiness and incident command—is comprehensive, community-integrated and easy-to-use, helping hospitals and healthcare organizations automate daily operations, exercises, compliance and incident management.

After the events of 9/11, LiveProcess founder and CEO Nathaniel Weiss recognized that hospitals and other healthcare organizations lacked a "common language" for emergency preparedness and incident management. "9/11 was a wake up call for me. Living in New Jersey, friends of mine died in the disaster, and I saw how our world had truly changed. It was personal," said Weiss, an inventor and entrepreneur whose background in languages and technology drove him to patent music recording software widely used today by the film industry.

Weiss said those events exposed a "critical and unmet need" in the healthcare system that he knew he could address. "More than ever, hospitals must be prepared because they are at the center of our nations first response infrastructure," he said. "Hospitals spend their days taking care of patients and the community, yet have always struggled to prepare for the unthinkable. The American public wants to know if their hospitals are prepared, and that comes down to having the best information at hand and being able to communicate effectively with internal staff and community first responders. I feel confident that LiveProcess has the technology to take what is a very complex problem and make it manageable."

The 2009 Inc. 5000 serves as a unique report card on the U.S. economy. Despite the ongoing recession, aggregate revenue among the companies on the list actually increased to $214 billion, up $29 billion from last year, with a median three-year growth rate of 126 percent. The Inc. 5000 are responsible for creating more than 1 million jobs since their founding, making the list perhaps the best example of the impact private, fast-growing companies can have on the economy.

"Savvy trend spotters and those who invest in private companies know that the Inc. 5000 is the best place to find out about young companies that are achieving success through a wide variety of unprecedented business models, as well as older private companies that are still expanding at an impressive rate," said Inc. 5000 project manager Jim Melloan. "Thats why our list is so eagerly anticipated every year."
